“Do I need a visa for Hajj?” is one of the most common questions, and the answer is simpler than people fear. Here is how the Hajj visa works for pilgrims from the USA and Canada.
Yes, Hajj has its own visa
Hajj is not performed on a normal tourist visa or on an Umrah visa. It has a dedicated Hajj visa and permit, tied to the official pilgrimage system.
You do not apply for it separately
Here is the good news: you do not file a separate visa application at a consulate. When you book an official Nusuk Hajj package and complete the steps, the visa is arranged through Nusuk as part of the package. It is one of the services bundled into the price, along with hotels, transport and the Mashair services.
What you do need to do
- Create your Nusuk account and upload a valid passport and photo. See the account walk-through.
- Keep your passport valid well beyond your travel dates.
- Complete your booking and payment on Nusuk, and the visa follows as part of the process.

You cannot do Hajj on the wrong visa
Performing Hajj requires the proper Hajj permit and visa obtained through the official channel. Trying to perform Hajj on a tourist or Umrah visa, or without a permit, is not permitted and risks fines and removal. The official route is the only route, and it is designed to protect pilgrims.
Book the official way
Because the visa comes with the official package, booking on Nusuk is not just cheaper than a reseller, it is also the correct and safe way to get your Hajj visa. Start with how to book Hajj on Nusuk. We guide. We do not sell Hajj packages.
