Before you pay anyone for Hajj, read this. It can save you thousands of dollars, with no loss to the quality of your pilgrimage.
What changed with Nusuk
Hajj for pilgrims in the USA, Canada, UK, Europe and Australia is now booked directly on the official Nusuk Hajj platform, from authorized Saudi providers, at the price Nusuk displays. The old model, where you had to go through a licensed local agent, is gone. That is a good thing: it means you can see the real price yourself.
Where the markup hides
Despite this, some companies still advertise “Hajj packages” to the community. Even when they book a genuine Saudi provider for you, they add their own fee on top of the official price. Based on what pilgrims report, that markup is commonly $2,000 to $4,000 per person, sometimes more, for the exact hotels and services you could book yourself on Nusuk. You are paying a four-figure fee for a few clicks.
To be fair, not every operator is dishonest, and some genuinely help. But even the legitimate ones are expensive, and the system no longer requires them.
How to spot it
- They quote a single big number and avoid showing you the Nusuk price.
- They ask you to pay them directly, rather than funding your own Nusuk e-wallet.
- They discourage you from looking at Nusuk yourself.
On Nusuk, by contrast, you fund Nusuk’s own e-wallet and your money goes to the Saudi provider, not a middleman.
The honest alternative
- See the real price. Our Hajj reference pricing shows real, official package prices in USD.
- Book direct on hajj.nusuk.sa, in your own name.
- If you want help, hire a Hajj consultant for a small one-time fee, from $100, a fraction of a reseller’s markup, and keep full control of your own account and payment.
